Hi guys, After searching and trying to find us a free host for the website i have given up. I have today paid for a hosting account with a hosting company recommended to me by a friend. I'm waiting for the site to be set up which hopefully will be shortly. the address will be the37thfleet.info i will update the thread when the site is live. Cheers Skippy

Seems you've beaten me to the punch, I was about to look into website hosing once I've finished updating the forum (which will still be a little while now, perhaps a day or two for me to finish making all of the graphics and update the forum codes).
I'd like to discuss the idea of setting up this new website a little differently than the FMS we had running, a way for us to truly become a fan/helpsite as outlined in my latest news post. Get to me via PM and we can discuss what we'll need doing.
A little warning though, I'm still working on the forum code that manages the PM system, so you might have to wait a little while before you can access it properly.

Heya Ladies & Gents, As you probably know by reading this thread, Skippy and I have been working on a new website for the fleet that will hopefully turn us into a STO fan site/help site and community that may, with a little look, expand our in-game fleet ranks and provide us with an active community full of vibrant discussion. Progress has been coming along quite nicely and we now have a basic template design for the website. Our nova Fleet Management System is also operational and our new forum has been set up (more on the forums further on in this post). The following are some links that should give you some idea as to the progress we've made so far. Website LinkNova FMS LinkThe style used on the main website address is a basic, stripped down version of the style we intend to use for the entire site. Please note however, that section two of the STO Terms of Service states that written permission must be obtained from cryptic in order to "distribute, modify, transmit or publicly display the Materials". Since several of the materials referred to in the Terms of Service have in fact been used to construct a few of the site images, we have applied to Cryptic for such permission, and expect a response shortly. I've spoken to a few people about it, and they tell me that Cryptic doesn't usually have a problem with this, so we're hoping that we'll be given permission to continue using them. In the event that permission is denied, however, we'll have to design a new layout which would push back the release day of the new site (which has yet to be determined anyway). Now, to address the aforementioned issue of a new forum. Upon registering with the web-host, Skippy found that we have the ability to create a phpBB type forum. Having set this up to some degree, and after looking through some of the features, I personally think it might be a better option to consider purchasing an Invision Power licence, that will authorise us to set up an Invision Power Board. In my personal experience this type of board would be much easier to skin, an offers a range of features that phpBB does not (such a a personal blog system for all members, galleries, amongst other things). I'm also more familiar with Invision boards, having been an administrator for one in the past, so I'm confident I'll be able to manage it well. I have absolutely no problem in purchasing a licence, but I'd like to be sure that it's the popular thing to do first, so I'd appreciate some input. The reason we're setting up a new forum in the first place is that it will be under our own domain name (rather than under proboards, as it is now), and is also more complex than proboards is allowing for greater customization and additional features for both administrators and members.

Hi Keegan, 1st go to www.teamspeak.com/ and download the client 2nd install and run 3rd when team speak starts you will see options across the top toll bar select bookmarks, you will then see an option to manage bookmarks, click this and a popup box will open here you will have the option to add a bookmark. 4th in the add bookmark section you will see New server appear change the name in the options below, Add the server ts.thehostinn.org and port 9987, Create you nick name and leave server password blank. Now save this. You team speak is now setup and ready to go. In order to connect start team speak and again go to bookmarks you will see the name of the server (In my case a save it as The 37th Fleet) select it and it will automatically connect you. all you need is a mic and your all set for some fleet chat. I will post a step by step guide with pictures in the wiki section of the fleet site at some point this week. Cheers Skippy

Hi Fleet members I'd like to request you all sign up to the fleet site www.fleet.the37thfleet.info as with 42 members on the books and only 4 registered on the site isn't going to help us recruit new members. Also i would love to hear some feed back on the new site skin i have designed and put up today. It has a slight image issue which i'm working on but css isn't my strong point and skins these days are all css based i'm working on a matching wiki skin, control panel skin and login skin right now and hopefully these will be ready very soon. Cheers Skippy
